For improved precision, the G19 Gen5 features a slightly redesigned barrel crown and rifling. Great for target shooting, home defense, and some concealed carry applications, the GLOCK 19 Gen5 Compact FS 9mm Pistol offers reliable performance in a versatile, compact handgun. The only failures have been ammo-related. I prefer to put a minimum of 500 rounds through any handgun I’m considering carrying and the Gen 5 G19 soared through those first 500 rounds beautifully. This is a reliable gun (of course it is, it’s a GLOCK).

Glock changed the trigger as well making it crisper by updating the trigger spring and redesigning the safety plunger. This has been well received by most but many users have reported little difference. The biggest thing to note is the trigger is not worse than it was in the Gen 4.
